1 June - International Children's Day

This day was established in 1949 on the session of the International Democratic Federation of Women. In Ukraine, Children's Day is celebrated since 1998.

"This day is not only to have fun for children but also an occasion to remind the public that child - is a full citizen of the country, which has rights. He requires special attention and respect from all of us" - said the Chair of the Green Party of Ukraine Tetiana Kondratiuk.

She said that today Ukrainian children facing weight problems. Over 30% of children in Ukraine suffer from various forms of violence, from physical to psychological and sexual. Ukrainian teenagers among the first in the ranking of alcohol consumption. Among all European countries, Ukraine is one of the leader in supplying the internet and child pornography.
"Our duty is to eradicate evil and create favorable conditions for normal and full development of the child" – said the Chair ofthe Green Party of Ukraine.

She noted that in recent years the health of Ukrainian children became worse.

"Today, almost every child has a chronic illness. And city kids get sick more often than rural. You can not fail to mention the environmental aspect of the problem "- recalled Tetiana Kondratiuk.

"Green Party of Ukraine has repeatedly stressed that child care in our country should be systematic and include social, economic, educational and environmental aspects”, - she added.

"Children - our most precious treasure, our joy and our future. That is why the sacred duty of the family, schools, government and public care is the full development of interests and abilities of each child, to provide a decent level of education of our children. I congratulate every Ukrainian child with this holiday "- said Tetiana Kondratiuk.
